spect: derived from Latin "specere", meaning "look"

-able: able to do something

So respectful means:

Able to be looked again and again from somebody.

  1. If somebody is able to be looked again and again, it means "this person is admirable".
  2. If something is able to be looked again and again, it means "this thing is good".
